The dates that matter.

Florida uses HealthCare.gov, so these are the dates for Florida residents. Coverage starts once your first premium is paid.

December 15, 2026

Plans chosen December 16 through January 15 start February 1, 2027.

After January 15, you can enroll or change plans only if you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period, for example after moving, losing other coverage, getting married, or having a baby. Medicaid and CHIP accept applications any time of year. Dates are from HealthCare.gov.

Who Should Review

Is a review worth it for you?

If any of these apply, it’s worth taking a fresh look before December 15:

  • You have a Marketplace plan now. If you do nothing, you may be automatically re-enrolled, and premiums, networks, and covered drugs can change from year to year.
  • Your income or household changed, or you expect it to in 2027.
  • You’re losing job-based coverage, turning 26, or moving.
  • Your doctors or prescriptions changed.
  • You don’t have coverage today and want it for 2027.

What to Have Ready

Bring this to your review.

  • Income estimate for 2027 for everyone in your tax household.
  • Household information: names, dates of birth, and Social Security numbers for those applying.
  • Your current plan, if you have one: plan name, insurer, and your renewal notice.
  • Doctors and prescriptions: the providers you want to keep and the medications you take.
  • Immigration documents, if applicable, for anyone applying.

Free Help

Our help is free to you.

There is no fee to work with us. Licensed agents are generally paid a commission by the insurance company whose plan you choose, and you won’t pay anything additional for your plan by enrolling with an agent. You still get any premium tax credit or other savings you qualify for, because savings are based on your household and income, not on who helps you.

We work with multiple carriers, but we may not offer every plan available in your area. You can always compare all plans on HealthCare.gov.

FAQ

Common questions.

I already have a Marketplace plan. Do I need to do anything?

If you do nothing, you may be automatically re-enrolled for 2027, in the same plan or a similar one. It’s still a good idea to update your application and compare plans, since prices, networks, and drug lists can change. To switch plans with coverage starting January 1, choose a new plan by December 15.

What if I miss January 15?

After Open Enrollment ends, you can enroll or change plans only if you have a qualifying life event, such as moving, losing other coverage, getting married, or having a baby. You can apply for Medicaid or CHIP at any time.

Does using an agent cost more?

No. There’s no fee for our help, and you won’t pay anything additional for your plan. Agents are generally paid by the insurance companies whose plans they sell.

What happens during a free review?

We go over your household, income estimate, doctors, and prescriptions, then walk you through the plans that fit. If you decide to enroll, we can help you complete the application. There’s no obligation.
